How Does It Work?
Clincally proven, non-surgical method to reducing fat in the abdomen and flanks
Venus Concept's clinically proven non-surgical fat treatments use applicators that are placed on the abdomen, flanks and/or other body areas. These applicators deliver targeted energy from a 1064nm diode laser below the skin’s surface, where it breaks down and destroys fat cells—a process known as lipolysis.
The laser energy is delivered through a small, handheld device that is placed over the treatment area. As the laser energy penetrates the skin, it causes the fat cells to break down and release their contents into the body. These contents are then eliminated through the lymphatic system.
This treatment, offered at our liposuction clinic near you, is FDA-approved and clinically proven to be safe and effective. In a study of 100 patients, 96% reported satisfaction with their results to reduce fat after just one treatment.

Q: I have darker skin – can I still get this treatment done?
A: Yes. Venus bliss treatments use technology that is safe for all skin tones, even darker ones.
Q: How many sessions will I need to see results?
A: The purging of fat cells is a gradual process, maximum results will take time. You may start to see changes as early as 4 weeks after your procedure, and the most dramatic results will likely become apparent within 1-3 months. However, results may take up to 3-6 months after completion of your treatment plan to become visible, and visible results will naturally vary from person to person.
Q: How often/far apart should the treatments be?
A: Every patient is unique. Great results may be seen after just one Venus Bliss™ fat reduction treatment, though many patients should expect a series of 3 treatments for most dramatic results. Treatment are completed 4-6 weeks apart.
Q: How is this different than coolsculpting?
A: While the Venus Bliss and CoolSculpting are both designed for the primary purpose of reducing fat cells from specific areas of the body resulting in circumference reduction, they are ultimately very different. Listed below are just a few of the most pronounced differences* between these fat reduction modalities:
- • Venus Bliss uses controlled, safe, well-established and proven laser HEAT energy to destroy fat cells.
- CoolSculpting uses a cooling technology to FREEZE fat cells, also known as cryolipolysis.
- The heat technology of Venus Bliss is able to safely radiate to fat cells outside of the specific target area, allowing for smooth, even results over a larger treatment area. o The effects of cryolipolysis are restricted to the exact area of the tissue held within
- the CoolSculpting treatment applicators. This limits results to a much smaller area overall and has led many patients to experience uneven fat reduction where they are left with unsightly pockets or bulges.

Q: What areas can be treated?
A: The Venus Bliss has been clinically studied and FDA cleared for efficacy in the areas of the abdomen and the flanks.
Practitioners are also treating bra fat, back fat and inner and outer thighs with great results, however these areas are currently considered “off-label” use.
Q: Are results permanent?
A: A percentage of treated fat cells will be permanently destroyed in a natural process called apoptosis, while many of the fat cells will experience an emptying of the fatty contents, known as lipolysis. When
shrunken and emptied, these fat cells will lay flat and reduce overall volume in the treatment area, which is the desired result.
However, weight gain and/or the over-consumption of fatty and unhealthy foods will cause the remaining fat cells to once again become plump and full, which will partially reverse the effects of treatment. Therefore, patients are generally responsible for the permanence of their results or lack thereof.
Maintenance treatments and an overall healthy lifestyle are the best methods to ensure that results are long-lasting.
Q: What does the treatment feel like?
A: A Venus Bliss™ fat reduction treatment will start with a cooling phase for a few seconds where you’ll feel a slight chill from the applicators on your skin. You will then gradually feel the applicators getting warmer. Once the temperature builds, the applicators will switch to cooling mode again for a brief period to maintain the therapeutic temperature in the fat layer and to keep the treatment as comfortable as possible. This process of heating and cooling will continue for the duration of your treatment.
